How the place hierarchy works

Kurram District is the shared starting point. Upper, Central and Lower Kurram sit beneath it. A town or village belongs under its verified region. A village near Parachinar is not automatically part of Parachinar town: proximity, a postal address, a planning boundary and an administrative boundary can describe different things.

Use the Parachinar, Dogar and Sadda guides as starting points within their respective regions. When reading statistics, check the exact administrative or census unit rather than treating nearby settlements as one place.
